FIVE REASONS TO LOVE NEW MALDEN

Do you live in New Malden or are you thinking of moving to New Malden? Well, we can’t blame you. This area of Surrey, simply is the place to be! We wrote down some of the reasons why moving to this area is a good idea! Discover five valid reasons to love our town!

1. Community built by diversity

New Malden is a hub of diversity with a mix of British, Indian, and Asian culture. It’s home to around 10,000 Korean Residents making it the largest population of Koreans in Europe. The area boasts a wide range of Korean restaurants as well as schools and shops with traditional foods and drinks.

2. LOTS OF GREEN
PARKS AND AREAS

New Malden is home to numerous green spaces and walking trails. Places like Motspur and Manor Park all have play areas for kids as well as fields for picnics and dog walks. There’s also an equestrian centre for horse riding and the 7-mile Hogsmill River Walk takes you along the tributary of the River Thames starting at Ewell and ending in Kingston Upon Thames.

3. Proximity to London and other areas 

New Malden is close to numerous different transport links into London with New Malden running trains to Waterloo less than every 10 minutes it’s easily accessible for the London commute. As well as London, New Malden is also close to both Kingston Upon Thames and Wimbledon both of which boast a whole range of shops and parks including both Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park.

4. VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY PLACE

With the most popular properties in New Malden being 1930’s style semi-detached house, New Malden is the perfect place for your family. There are numerous sought after primary and secondary schools close by as well as a number of sporting facilities including horse riding and tennis courts for extracurricular activities.

5. There ARE many Independent Businesses 

Much like us, there are hundreds of other independent businesses in New Malden all supporting one and other. There’s the bakery in Old Malden, a butcher and a greengrocer in neighbouring Worcester Park. There’s also the well-loved Korean supermarket on Shannon Corner which is very popular among the locals.
